Question: What extra things (on top of Fardh and Wajib) can be done during the Salat to make it better?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I pray that you are well, insha’Allah.

One should be performing the sunna actions of the prayer. I’d advise taking the following course to learn the essentials of one’s religious practice: Absolute Essentials of Islam: Beliefs & Worship

Beyond that, one strives to beautify one’s prayer by learning and applying the inward and outward proper manners (adab), developing one’s relationship with one’s Lord by focusing on the Divine beauty and majesty, and seeking to make one’s prayer a real ascent.
