Are Sins Committed Openly Unforgivable?

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question

Someone told me that those who have sinned openly would never be forgiven.

Is it true? How can to repent from these kinds of sins?

Answer

I pray that you are in the best of health and faith, insha’Allah.

Repentance wipes away the sin and its traces.

See: A Reader on Tawba (Repentance)

Repentance is fulfilled by leaving the sin, having remorse for having sinned, and resolving never to return to it.

Allah Most High is the All-Merciful, and He commands us to never despair in His Mercy.

And Allah alone gives success.
