Lost Ummah? The Key to Jerusalem is Imam Ghazali’s Ihya Ulum al-Din (Reviving the Sciences of Religion) – Sa’Adah

The Key to Jerusalem is the Ihya Uloom al-Deen

Habib Muhammad takes a look at the Ummah from its very beginning and the trials faced and seeks to uncover lessons we can draw upon today to help guide us and keep us rooted on the Path to Allah Almighty.
Habib Muhammad speaks about the essential spiritual reformation that led to reconquest of al-Quds from attaching to the teachings of Ihya Uloom al-Deen by Imam al-Ghazali (RA) and teachings of Shaykh Abdal Qadir Jilani.
From amongst the hundreds of 1000’s disciples who benefitted and lived by the Ihya, was our noble leader Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn Yūsuf ibn Ayyūb.
He was able to combine the teachings of Imam al-Ghazali, Shaykh Abdal Qadir Jilani & his aspirations to return the Baytul Maqdis (Masjid al-Aqsa) back into the community of the muslims. He requested that scholars from the school of Shaykh Abdal Qadir Jilani come to his army and teach them the Ihya before they engaged in battle for the victory in Jerusalem.
These are the teachings and Prophetic methodology we must revive in all our communities, houses, schools and learning centres so that the ummah itself can become strong and powerful as an internal force.
And [remember, O Muhammad], when those who disbelieved plotted against you to restrain you or kill you or evict you [from Makkah]. But they plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners – Surah al Anfal (8:30)
