Summary
Please note the live classes may be conducted by other qualified instructors, who are approved of by Mufti Umer.
This is the second of four courses that constitute a complete
Tajwid curriculum,
the Jazari Certificate of Proficiency in Qur’anic Recitation. Students
will learn more detailed rules of
Tajwid and by the end of the
course should be able to recite correctly 24
suras of 30th part
of the Qur’an (
al-Humaza to al-Takwir). Students whom the
instructor feels have demonstrated sufficient mastery after successful
completion of the four part series will receive the Jazari Certificate
for Instruction (
Ijazah) in Qur’anic Recitation.
Details
Based on evidence from the Qur’an and Hadith, scholars
have diligently preserved the correct method of reciting each and every
letter of the classical Arabic language as well as all other aspects of
recitation. ‘Allama Ibn Al-Jazari states, “Learning Tajwid is a
mandatory duty of utmost importance. Whoever does not recite the Qur’an
with Tajwid is a sinner.” In addition, without correct
recitation, our prayers cannot attain the highest level of acceptance.
In addition, without correct recitation, our prayers cannot attain the
highest level of acceptance.
In this second course, Shaykh Mohamed-Umer Esmail teaches more of
the rules of Tajwid in detail and the students will learn to
recite 24 Suras of Juz’ ‘Amma (the 30th and last section of the
Qur’an) from al-Humazah to at-Takwir with Tajwid.
Students whom the instructor feels have demonstrated sufficient
mastery after successful completion of the four part series will receive
the Jazari Certificate for Instruction (Ijazah) in Qur’anic
Recitation. More information regarding the certificate is available here.
There will be separate live practice sessions for men and women.
Sessions will be in small groups to facilitate a more effective learning
environment.
