This retreat is designed to teach what is obligatory for a Muslim to know and practice. Being grounded in these essentials is the key to making steady and sustainable progress in the religion. This retreat aims to provide you with the clarity and confidence you need to progress in your religious practice.

Program Objectives:

• Properly Prioritize: You will understand what it means for something to be obligatory in the religion, and how to prioritize your religious actions.
• Increase your Knowledge: You will learn obligatory aspects of beliefs, actions and spirituality.
• Turn Knowledge into Action: All learning will emphasize turning this knowledge into consistent action. You will return home with the tools to practice what you have learned.

Subjects Covered:

• Beliefs: God, the prophets, and eschatological events
• Actions: purity, prayer, and the permissible and impermissible in daily life.
• Spirituality: piety, blameworthy and praiseworthy traits of the heart, and fundamentals of the path.
• Surah Al-Fatiha (first chapter of the Quran): proper recitation and commentary
