Hafidh Naeel Cajee

Biography

Born in Seattle, Washington, Na’eel attended Darul-Uloom Zakariyya, a respected southern African madrassah (seminary), and in 2001 received the Ijaza ( Diploma) in the Memorization of the Qur’an before returning to middle school. He recited the entire Quran from memory in his final examination with three errors. He has participated in numerous regional and national Qira’at competitions. Since the eighth grade, he has led Tarawih prayers every year during Ramadan and has served as an imam & khateeb throughout the year.
Having earned an Ijaza in advanced recitation from Qari Salah Al-Kurdi of Amman, Jordan, Na’eel is currently studying the ten recitations of the Qur’an and its calligraphed scripts. He graduated from Harvard College the history of science, having received a summa cum laude on his senior thesis, and currently attends the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
