Is Shaving the Head Bald Without Excuse Disliked in the Hanafi Madhab?
Hanafi Fiqh
Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi
Question
What is the ruling in the Hanafi Madhab on shaving the head completely bald for men outside of Umra or Hajj without an excuse? Is it considered disliked, similar to the Makruh Tanzihi ruling in the Maliki Madhab?
Answer
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
No, there is no dislike in fully shaving the head. What is problematic is to shave a part of the head and leave the rest untouched.
The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace be upon him) saw a boy, part of whose head had been shaved, and part of it left. He told them not to do that and said: “Shave all of it or leave all of it.” [Nasa’i]
