Is a Hajj Performed with Borrowed Money Valid?

Question

My father performed Hajj after borrowing money from my aunt to accompany her as her mahram, which he later repaid. Initially, a scholar approved, but later stated it was not valid. Is my father’s Hajj sound?

A Hajj performed with borrowed money is valid.
