Would It Be Permissible to Return Shoes Bought from a Third Party?
Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi
Question
Would it be permissible to return shoes bought from a third party to a store without a receipt for higher store credit?
Answer
There is no sale contract between you and the store. Thus, you cannot return an item to the store because returning it entails canceling a transaction that never existed.
You can return the shoes to the third party who originally bought them from the store because you and this third party have entered into a sale contract.
He will have the possibility to return the shoes to the store because of the previous sale that has taken place between them. [Lubab, Maydani]
And Allah knows best.
