Do I Have to Pay a Penalty for Using Perfumed Soap While in Ihram?
Hanafi Fiqh
Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi
Question
During ‘Umra, I wore underwear for about 26 hours due to urine dribbling and used perfumed soap once unintentionally. Do I need to offer fidya or sadaqa for these actions, and is there an alternative to sacrificing a sheep?
Answer
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
I pray this finds you in the best of states.
You are excused for wearing underwear due to your condition and nothing is due.

As for the use of perfumed soap, you will only have to offer the sacrifice of a sheep if one limb was fully perfumed.
If it was less than a limb only charity is due.

And Allah knows best.
