Question

I have chronic cholinergic urticaria, which causes unbearable stinging and itching in heat or stress. Am I excused from Jumu‘a during hot days and Hajj due to my condition?

Answer

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

I pray this finds you in the best of states.

Yes, a sickness that renders the performance of Hajj or the Friday prayer unduly difficult is an excuse that will make you not responsible for performing them anymore. [Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah; Maydani, al-Lubab fi Sharh al-Kitab]

Allah (Most High) says: “Allah desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you.” [Quran, 2:185]

And Allah knows best.
Wassalam
