Adam’s Indelible Print (Sonnet 4), read by Riyad Shamma

“I met Abdal-Hayy soon after I started the Muslims Writer’s Guild in the late 80’s. I met with him at the ISNA convention along with some other writers as there were few native English speaking Muslim writers at the time. He was a pioneer in producing very well-written, professional materials for Muslims. He was not preachy or dogmatic in his writing. He wrote some of the first good fiction for youth (Invincible Abdullah series) as well as being someone who beautifully expressed his love of Allah through his poetry. We know so much about the great Arabic poetry, it’s nice to have our own.”
