You may not have been in touch regularly but knowing that they were there – somewhere, present on Earth, meant something. Once they are gone, you miss them as an individual but more importantly, you miss what they represented. Daniel Abdal-Hayy Moore was such a person, and I feel the void of having lost such an incredible, Western Muslim poet.”
