The Art of Prophetic ﷺ Forgiveness, by Shaykh Walead Mosaad

The Art of Prophetic Forgiveness

In this special Ramadan edition of our regular Circle of Light gathering in remembrance of the Prophet, we have special sacred songs, special supplications and talks from our Ramadan scholars on the life and character of the Prophet ﷺ‎ and how he sought and exemplified the mercy, forgiveness and the pursuit of salvation.

In this episode, Shaykh Walead Mosaad speaks about the art of prophetic forgiveness – how the Prophet manifested beauty in the way he forgave those who had wronged him even in the most extreme circumstances.  How can we learn this prophetic art and apply it into our own lives?

The Champion of Truth by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani explains key lessons on being a champion of truth (a siddiq) from the life of the great companion Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) as part of an ongoing course taught at the Ha Meem College by Dr. Ridhwan Saleem and other distinguished teachers.

Shaykh Faraz highlighted how the great companion Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) exhibited the highest meanings of being a “siddiq”, a champion of truth, before the coming of revelation to the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And then throughout the message of the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from the very beginning to the very end, right up to the passing of the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Shaykh Faraz uses vivid examples from the life of Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) with the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He highlights what is meant by being “truly true”, a siddiq, or a champion of truth, and how we can strive to live and embody those meanings in our lives, inspired by the beautiful example of the greatest follower of the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the best human after the prophets, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him).

Why Were The Sahaba Dazzled By The Prophet ﷺ?

The companions of the Prophet ﷺ were in absolute awe of him, as documented exhaustively in accounts of their time with him ﷺ. How did a man, known as the unlettered or illiterate Prophet ﷺ capture the hearts of friends and enemies alike?

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani gives us some idea in this brief podcast.

How The Prophet And The Companions Raised The Best Of Children

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani provides an excellent summary of how the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) raised their own children and the children around them, beginning first with how the blessed community of the time was set up to support the sound upbringing of the youth. In an ever-challenging world, when the gap between parents and their offspring appear wider than ever before, this reminder couldn’t have come soon enough.

True Light: Lessons from the Trueness of Abu Bakr

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani shares stories from the life of the foremost of the Companions of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings be upon him & his folk), Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (Allah be pleased with him).

These stories highlight why Abu Bakr was a true lover of Allah and the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and why he truly deserved the name “al-Siddiq” (the Veracious—or the Chamption of Trueness).

They highlight the realities of being true to Allah, being true to Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), being true to Allah’s religion, and being true to Allah’s creation.

This lesson was delivered on 27th July 2015 in Sandton Muslim Jamaat (Marlboro Jaame Masjid) in Johannesburg, South Africa. Follow the Spread Light tour of South Africa on the SeekersHub website. Be Light: Three Keys To Being Ambassadors Of The Prophet

SouthAfrica2015-HoughtonMosque-ShaykhFarazRabbani-IMG_459426428-3Listen to Shaykh Faraz Rabbani’s jummah khutbah at Houghton Masjid, South Africa on 24th July 2015.

While other Prophets were given “manifest proofs” (bayyinat) by Allah, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was himself sent as a manifest proof (al-bayyina) of the truth.

“Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, were not going to depart (from their ways) until there should come to them manifest proofs, A messenger from Allah, rehearsing scriptures kept pure and holy, Wherein are laws (or decrees) right and straight.” [Surat al-Bayyina, verses 1-3]

He embodies, manifests and serves as clear proof of Guidance and Truth. This is why he is referred to as being the Shining Light (siraj munir). “And as one who invites to Allah’s (grace) by His leave, and as a shining light.” [Surat al-Ahzab: verse 46]

Shaykh Faraz Rabbani explains the essential characteristics of the Prophetic way in this Friday khutbah at the Houghton Mosque in Johannesburg. The Prophetic way is a way of beauty, virtue, mercy and excellence.

To be true followers of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his folk) we must strive to reflect this shining light–and to strive to become “manifest proofs” in our own examples of truth, guidance and good.

Shaykh Faraz explains three keys to this, namely:

(1) the light of faith, nurturing it with dhikr and uprightness

(2) the light of good character in dealings, seeking Allah thereby — Hadith.

(3) the light of excellence in choices, choosing Allah in tests, trials and all decisions.
