YOUR INFORMATION

THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

SeekersGuidance does not automatically collect your personally identifiable information when you visit our website. We do recognize the internet service provider of visitors, as well as the domain name or IP address of the server from where you are visiting. This information is used to determine the number of visitors to our site and sources of traffic. The data we collect are totals of those visiting from a domain, not information on individual users.

We cannot recognize the personally identifiable data—such as names, postal addresses, e-mail addresses, contact information, credit card information or other information—about our visitors that would allow us to identify the particular visitors to our website.

You do not have to provide any personal information on our website unless you choose to do so. SeekersGuidance only gathers personal information—such as your name, postal address, e-mail address, contact information, credit card information or other information—only when you voluntarily submit it in an online form. If you make a donation online, personal information will be collected from you in order to process that donation.

HOW WE USE INFORMATION

SeekersGuidance is the sole owner of any information collected on this site. SeekersGuidance  does not sell personal information about its website users or its offline donors.

SeekersGuidance states unambiguously that (a) it will not sell, trade and share a donor’s personal information with anyone else, nor send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations or (b) it will only share personal information once the donor has given the charity specific permission to do so.

The personal information you provide us when using our website or by other means—such as your name, postal address, e-mail address, contact information, credit card information or other information—will be kept strictly confidential and used to support your customer relationship with SeekersGuidance, as well as to notify you of updated information.

If you allow us to, we will use personal information that you submit in an online or offline form to place you on our mailing list for regular updates. If you do not wish to receive such mailings from SeekersGuidance, you will have the opportunity at any time to request removal from future mailings by contacting us.

SeekersGuidance strongly adheres to anti-spam practices in its e-mail outreach. All e-mails sent on our list have easy-to-follow unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each e-mail, and lists are never shared with any third parties.

PERSONAL INFORMATION AND CREDIT CARD SECURITY

SeekersGuidance cares about the safety and security of your transaction, and we take every precaution to protect your information.

Donations made on our website are secure to the fullest extent possible. SSL protects information as it is transferred through the Internet. This method is the industry standard security protocol, which makes it extremely difficult for anyone else to intercept the credit card information you send to us. Companies we work with to process credit card transactions also use high grade encryption and security protocols.

You can recognize secure website pages by checking for the secure symbol at the bottom of your browser screen. For most browsers, this symbol is either a lock or a key. When the lock symbol appears to be locked, the page is secure. When it appears to be unlocked, the page is insecure.

Furthermore, this site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.

ACCESSING YOUR INFORMATION

If you would like to request access to review, update or change the information you have supplied in any way, feel free to contact SeekersGuidance at any time. You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that shows the error. We use this procedure to better safeguard your information. To protect your privacy and security, we will also take steps to verify your identity before providing information or making corrections.

OPT-OUT

SeekersGuidance gives you the opportunity to opt-out of receiving additional information from us at any time. If you do not wish to receive mailings and/or e-mails from SeekersGuidance you can request removal by sending an email to us with “unsubscribe from mailing list” or “unsubscribe from email list” in the subject line, or by unsubscribing directly from an e-mail you receive from us (you can find the “unsubscribe from this list” option in the footer of the email).

However, since we cannot guarantee the content of every site to which we are linked, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these other websites.

The fact that SeekersGuidance has provided a link to a site is not an endorsement, authorization, sponsorship or affiliation with respect to such site, its owners or its providers.

We encourage you to be aware when you leave our website to read the privacy statements of every website that collects personally identifiable information. COOKIES

Our websites use ’cookies’ which are text files placed on your computer when you visit a site which help us understand how you use our websites. Cookies don’t collect personal data from your computer, only the data created by your browsing. Some cookies remain on your computer after you leave the website; these are called ‘persistent’ cookies. Others are deleted automatically when you close your browser and others simply expire. We use the following cookies on our websites:

Analytics cookies and advertising cookies set by Google Analytics

We may collect non-person-identifying information relating to your use of our sites via Google Analytics technology. This may include: which pages you see; how long you stay; what you click on our pages; if you visit the website again; which country and city you are browsing from; etc. This data is collected for the purpose of monitoring and understanding the effectiveness of our websites. We also collect data relating to the demographics and interests of our users via Google Analytics and cookies set by Google advertising networks. This data is used in aggregated form to help improve the site and the SeekersGuidance’s marketing efforts.

Facebook custom audience pixel

The Facebook pixel is a small piece of JavaScript code which provides a number of functions for the sending of application specific events and user-defined data to Facebook. We use the pixel in order to record information concerning the way in which visitors use our website. The pixel records and provides Facebook with information concerning the browser setting of the user, a hashed version of the Facebook ID (a string of numbers that doesn’t personally identify individuals but does connect to a user Facebook profile) and the URL which is being visited.

Each Facebook user possesses a clear and device-independent Facebook ID, meaning it’s possible to recognise the user on the social network and their interactions with the SeekersGuidance’s website. It’s then possible to retarget website visitors for advertising purposes by means of Facebook adverts.

For example, the pixel allows SeekersGuidance to serve Facebook advertising to all users who have visited a specific page on its website during a set time period of up to 180 days. After 180 days, the user information is deleted. If the visitor accesses our website again after this period, user information will reset and be collected as stated above (browser setting, hashed version of Facebook ID and URL being visited). No personal information is disclosed to the SeekersGuidance in relation to individual website visitors.

Further information concerning the pixel can be found in Facebook’s Data Policy and Terms of Service. You can opt out from Facebook’s pixel-based ads by following these opt-out instructions.

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES

If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to our website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should regularly review this privacy policy section of our website.

Any changes to this policy will be posted prior to their implementation.
