Learn to Live – 01 – Interview with Shaykh Yahya Rhodus

In this interview, Shaykh Yahya Rhodus shares with us and reflects on his journey of seeking knowledge. He starts by telling us his story of accepting of Islam and how that eventually led him onto a path of seeking sacred knowledge. He narrates inspirational stories of special people he met on his journey. Shaykh Yahya then talks about some of the challenges of returning to the west after his studies. He stresses on the importance of establishing institutions of sacred Islamic knowledge in the west and tells us some of the challenges regarding that. Finally, Shaykh Yahya gives some key advice to students of sacred knowledge specifically and to the Muslim community more broadly.

This interview with Shaykh Yahya Rhodus is part of a series we’re calling “Learn to Live” – where we’ll be exploring the journey of the student of knowledge — by speaking with the teachers and students who are traveling that path. We’ll explore what inspired them to pursue the path of knowledge. We’ll chronicle some of their stories and experiences along the way, and we’ll ask them to share their best advice for the student’s of today.

We need your support. This Ramadan, we need you to help us #GiveLight to millions more. Here’s how.
