120 – The Secrets of Prayer – The Hikam – Shaykh Zahir Bacchus


In this episode,  Shaykh Zahir Bacchus covers the 120th aphorism of the Hikam  : “The prayer is a place of holding intimate converse, and a mine-lode of sincerity of love;In which the vistas of secrets extend before one, and there appear at its horizons dawnings of illuminations. He knew of weakness from you, so made them few in number; And knew your need for His bounty,so made them prodigious in spiritual succors.”

This podcast covers “The Hikam”,  considered a classical masterpiece in spiritual literature – written by the great spiritual master of 13th/14th century Ibn Ata’illah. The Hikam is a book of spiritual aphorisms containing timeless and pure spiritual wisdom.

Shaykh Zahir is the Co-Founder and Executive Director at Lote Tree Foundation. He also serves was the Imam at the Jamiat-ul-Ansar Masjid in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
