We learn what is meant by beneficial knowledge when it is mentioned in the Qur’an and sunna. Ibn Ata’illah says that beneficial knowledge is that which comes with awe of Allah and is encompassed by reverent fear of Him. Finally, we learn that beneficial knowledge is that which leads to love of Allah, His messenger and the companions of the prophet (peace be upon him and God be pleased with them).
