In this episode, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani covers hadiths six to nine from Imam Nabahani’s set of hadiths on the virtues of “la ilaha illallah”. In hadith six, we learn about different forms of dhikr as a form of sadaqa, and that the duha prayer has the reward of all of these acts. In hadith seven, we learn about the command of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him) to instruct the dying to say “la ilaha illallah”. In hadith eight, we learn about “la ilaha illallah” as a means of renewing one’s faith. In hadith nine, we learn about “la ilaha illallah” as a statement for which the soul will find expansiveness when it leaves the body, and which will be a light for it until the Day of Judgement. Shaykh Faraz then begins the text, “Letter to a Disciple” by Imam Ghazali, where we learn that public advice should be quoted from the goldmine of messengerhood (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him).

In the Daily Rawha, Shaykh Faraz Rabbani will be covering Daily Guidance for Seekers, beginning with two texts:

(1)Imam Yusuf al-Nabahani’s beautiful collection of 40 sets of 40 Hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); and

(2) Imam Ghazali’s “Letter to a Disciple” on his comprehensive advice to the seeker of knowledge.

The texts will be read in Arabic, translated, and commented upon briefly. This class is of benefit both for committed students of knowledge—particularly given the reading in Arabic—and for those simply seeking daily guidance, reminders, and inspiration in learning to live the light of Prophetic guidance.
