Crying With Concern: Why the Prophet Muhammad Cried, by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Friday sermon on the #QuebecAttack. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ cried, but not like others cry. His crying was not a crying of dejection or loss–but, rather, a crying of concern and caring. It was a crying of Mercy.

Our response to Islamophobia and other wrong can’t simply be to seek a cold, angry “justice.” Rather, we need to seek, uphold, and promote Mercy: care and concern for all creation, all people–both the oppressed and the oppressors, the wronged and the wrongdoers, the sinners and the saints.

This Friday sermon was delivered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani on February 3rd, 2017 at the Mississauga Muslim Community Center, Toronto.
