01- A Soft Heart is a Means to Good-Spiritual Counsel: Wisdom on Turning to God from the Islamic Tradition- Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

In the Spiritual Counsel podcast, SeekersGuidance founder Shaykh Faraz Rabbani, covers great texts from the rich Islamic spiritual tradition on how to turn to Allah, to cultivate spiritual presence, acquire Prophetic character, and attain true virtue.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a tremendous amount of importance to the health of our hearts. Shaykh Faraz Rabbani starts reading and explaining hadiths from the Chapter on Matters That Soften the Heart from the hadith compilation, Mishkat al-Masabih, compiled by Muḥammad ibn Abdullah Khatib al-Tabrizi (d. 741 AH).

Shaykh Faraz prefaces the reading by explaining that a soft heart is one that is most susceptible to the good. If there is something of the good that is said, indicated, entailed or pointed to, the soft heart is one that would incline to and direct itself towards that good.
