Shaykh Abdul-Rahim Reasat elaborates on the decree and wisdom behind the law regarding killing and the benefit it holds for the believers. He explains that the injunction to make a bequest to parents and next of kin (verse 181) was to ensure that no dispute arose in the family and that the inheritors received their due. This verse was later abrogated with Sura an Nisa’ (Quran 4:11).
