Can Beneficial Knowledge Learned From a Sinful Source Be a Gift From Allah?

I learned sound and useful things about the qualities of a good and a bad spouse from videos that also contained unlawful material. Can that understanding still be counted as a gift or guidance from Allah, and might it be Allah preparing me to choose well in marriage?

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful and Compassionate.
Yes. Every benefit comes from Allah, even when it reaches you through a place you wish it had not.
This is not just comfort. It is how Allah gives in this world. Allah Most High says, “He gives wisdom to act to whomever He wills, and whoever is given wisdom has been given immeasurable good.” [Quran 2:269; Keller, The Quran Beheld]
Allah gives wisdom as He wills. The source does not limit Him. If something true reached you and helped you, thank Allah for it and use it well.
Your sense that Allah may be preparing you to choose well in marriage is sound. Allah often turns a person’s heart toward what will help them before they know the reason.
Learn from Teachers You Can Trust
Let this lesson shape how you learn from now on. Seek knowledge from teachers who are qualified and whose practice you can trust.
This is not a small detail. Who you learn from shapes your heart and actions, not just your knowledge. When a teacher is not upright, truth and error come mixed. If a benefit once reached you through a bad source, do not keep returning to it.
Take the Good, but Change Where You Seek It
