Are Carbon Water Filters For Water Permissible?

Question:

Assalamu ‘Alaykum.

I was wondering if carbon filters (for water) were permissible to use?

Answer:

Wa ‘alaykum assalam wa rahmatullah wa barakatuh.

I pray you are well.

Yes, using such filters is permissible. They do not alter the fundamental qualities of water in any way, so it would not affect the rulings of purification. Drinking it is the same as drinking any other water. (Shurunbulali, Maraqi al Falah)

Allah bless you.
