Question Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

It is permissible to declare the affirmation of Prophet Musa (upon him be peace), even without saying God Willing (in sha Allah).

That said, emulating the affirmations of certainty declared by the Prophets and the righteous should be done with the following intentions:

– Striving to achieve their certainty
– As a supplication that Allah Most High make you of the people of certainty
– Out of reverence for their certainty in Allah Most High
– etc…

Adding ‘God Willing’ (In sha Allah)

It is not required to add the statement ‘God Willing’ (In sha Allah). This is because this statement can be said with the intention of supplication, and it is from the etiquettes of supplication to be resolute in one’s prayer.

The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Supplicate to Allah whilst you are certain that He will answer.” [Tirmidhi]
