Is it Permissible to Wear a Watch with a Bezel Made of Gold for Men?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

You already answered the question in the following link. (Is It Permissible to Wear Watches That Have Small Amounts of Gold in Them?).

However, I still had a question on that. What would it look like if only the bezel on a watch were made of white gold? Is there no distinction between yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold? Since this is not built directly into the interior of the watch, you don’t have direct contact with it when wearing it because it is from above.

I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question.

It will be permissible to wear a watch with a gold bezel. There is no distinction between the types of gold, yellow, white, or rose gold.

The reason is that the gold item has no contact with the skin. Therefore, it is permissible; neither is it a principal component without which the item is unusable.
