Does It Invalidate My Prayer If the Shape of My Thighs Is Exposed?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Shaykh Abdul-Rahim Reasat

Question

I think I probably had the shape of my thighs exposed while in tashahhud. Should I repeat the prayer?

Answer

I pray you are well.

No, you do not need to repeat your prayer. Clothing sticks to one’s body to some degree in parts of the prayer. This isn’t something to worry about. Only skin-tight clothing that shows the shape of one’s body when standing would be a problem. [Ibn ‘Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]

May Allah grant you the best of both worlds.
