Question

Is dry skin impure?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

No. Dry skin, as well as any other part of the human body that does not contain flowing blood or no pain is experienced when removing them.

[Tahtawi/Shurunbulali, Hashiyat Maraqi al-Falah]

According to this definition, all of the following are considered pure:

  • cut hair
  • peeled scab
  • fingernail trimmings
  • toenail trimmings

Hope this helps.
