Is It Permissible to Pray While Wearing Glasses?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi

Question

Is praying with glasses permissible? What should I do if I have before?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,

I pray this finds you in the best of states.

Yes, it is permissible to pray while wearing glasses. [Shurunbulali, Nur al-Idah]

The reason for this ruling is because wearing them doesn’t prevent you from fulfilling any of the conditions for the validity of the prayer nor is it an action that would entail invalidating your prayer. [Shurunbulali, Nur al-Idah]

If the conditions and invalidators of the prayer are not clear to you I invite you to take this free course:

And Allah knows best.
