Love Makes You Deaf and Blind

Is Not Feeling Deep Love For the Prophet Muhammad Disbelief?

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

What if I don’t know much about the Prophet Muhammad, so I don’t feel love inside my heart towardو him? Of course, I don’t hate him at all. He is the best human ever. But I just don’t know much about him. So I don’t feel like I love him with all my heart.

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful and Compassionate.

I hope you’re doing well, insha’Allah.

This isn’t disbelief. As a Muslim, you have accepted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as your Prophet and Messenger.

This “choice” is a type of rational love. But as believers, we have been commanded and encouraged to love the Messenger of Allah (peace & blessings be upon him) intensely–with rational, spiritual, and emotional love.

The sense of shortcoming with respect to not knowing enough about the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that you feel is from faith–and it is an invitation to learn more about him.

SeekersGuidance offers reliable and uplifting courses on the life, character, and teachings of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

And Allah is the giver of success and facilitation.
