Is Belief in Allah Without Accepting His Messenger Sufficient for Paradise?

Answered by Shaykh Yusuf Weltch

Question

If someone believes in Allah but not in His Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), is that considered faith? What if they heard of Islam and the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) but didn’t accept him? Would they eventually enter Paradise due to their belief in Allah?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

If one heard of Islam and the Islamic beliefs regarding the Prophets and thereafter, only believed in Allah to the exclusion of the Prophets, this is not valid faith which would allow them entrance to Paradise. [Laqqani, Jawhara al-Tawhid]

Denying any Prophet or Messenger that Allah tells us He sent is tantamount to disbelieving in the words of Allah Most High affirming that Prophethood. Believing in Allah necessitates belief in everything that Allah revealed.
