Is It Permissible to Fantasize about Paradise Maidens (Hur al-’Ayn)?

Answered by Shaykh Yusuf Weltch

Question

Is it permissible to fantasize about having sex with the maidens of Paradise (Hur al-‘Ayn)?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

Fantasizing about the Maidens of Paradise is permissible as long as it does not lead one to commit an impermissible or reprehensible action, such as masturbation or becoming overly preoccupied from one’s religious responsibilities and presence with Allah.

The Reason

The reason for the above ruling is that Allah Most High, throughout the Quran, warns and encourages us to the path of righteousness, the path of Paradise. As part and parcel of the encouragement are Allah’s mention throughout the Quran of the blessings in store for the Believer in Paradise. Since Allah Most High mentions the Maidens of Paradise, in great detail in some places, it would be permissible to reflect on that blessing.

High Purposes

That said, it is necessary to understand that the physical pleasures of Paradise are nothing in comparison to being in the eternal bliss of Allah’s nearness and contentment, is of no comparison, and one should not limit their efforts and obedience to achieving a lesser reward. Hope this helps
