Is it sinful or disbelief to check a qibla app that contains a picture of the K’aba while in the toilet area uncovered?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

It is considered dislike to have anything that is respected with one in the toilet area. The usage of the app and the app itself are not of this category, however, the picture of the K’aba on the app is. [Tahtawi/Shurunbulali, Hashiyat Maraqi al-Falah]

This is against the etiquette of using the restroom but it is in no way a major sin let alone disbelief.

Simply asking Allah Most High for forgiveness is sufficient. Allah Most High is Merciful; do not despair of that Divine Mercy.

Hope this helps
