What Can Be Done About the Aggressive LGBT Propaganda in the West?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

As you know, it is the “pride month” now. Of course, homosexual acts are a sin.

However, what can we as Muslims do about this lgbt-imposition in the West? For example, about the LGBT flags at schools/universities, shops, and many other places?

In Germany, for example, it is worse. They are actively lying and saying “homosexuality is not a sin in Islam” (same with other basic Islamic rules they don’t like headscarves) and “claiming otherwise collides with the liberal democratic constitution.” They are doing active propaganda, labeling those against it as Islamists, and pursuing the motto “You have to consent. Otherwise, you are a Salafi, extremist, dogmatist.”

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.

I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question and having concern, like many all over the world.

Action

There are a few steps that you can take to help your family face these challenges:

  1. Supplicate to Allah Most High first to protect our children from this evil;
  2. Minimize exposure by keeping children in Islamic environments with religious Muslim friends;
  3. Limit or eliminate their intake of TV and film that now contain these elements;
  4. Speak to them about it, its evils and the displeasure of Allah and the curse of Allah Most High that it brings upon one;
  5. Tell them the story of Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) and his people;
  6. Ask them not to speak or joke about it as they grow older, as mentioning falsehood for no reason is sinful;
  7. Most importantly, teach them Islam well, its spiritual and intellectual aspects, and with their deep conviction and faith, they will not go astray by the grace of Allah Most High.

We need to continue to pray that Allah Most High protects all children from that which displeases Him.
