How Should I Advise My Husband To Pray?
Answered by Ustadha Shazia Ahmad
Question
My husband prays fajr with me during Ramadan but no other time during the year. He is angry with me if I set alarms on my phone for fajr. If I gently say “Honey, it’s time to pray”, he curses at me… what should I do?
Answer
Thank you for your question. The best answer that I can give you for this problem is to read the following answer and apply the principles in it:
My Husband Doesn’t Pray: How Do I Advise Him?
Guidance is from Allah and the best thing that you can do is be kind, loving, polite, make du`a for him, and never sway from your own prayers. Gradually, he will notice the fruits that you reap from fulfilling this obligation and by the grace of Allah, he will join you one day. It will especially make a bigger impact when he sees you teaching the children to pray.

May Allah help all Muslims establish the prayer and make it the foundation of their religion.
