What Is the Ruling If One Visited Taif and Did Not Perform an Umrah upon Return?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

What is the ruling for the situation where one visited Taif and did not perform Umrah upon return?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

I pray you are in good faith and health. Thank you for your question.

If you did not perform Umrah upon your return from Taif and returned to your home country, then you will have to pay a penalty and perform an Umrah from any station (miqat) with the intention of a missed (qada) Umrah. However, if one returns for Umrah in the same year, one will not have to pay a penalty (dam). One will be absolved from paying it.
