Question
Is it permissible to combine intentions of make up fasts for Ramadan with the intention of the six days of Shawwal?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.
Merging the Intentions
Combining the intention of a missed fast for Ramadan during Shawwal with the intention of the sunna fasts of Shawwal is valid.
Furthermore, you will be rewarded for both intentions.
Legal Position
This is the legal position of some of the scholars, even though others took an opposing position. [Hamawi, Ghamz ‘Uyun al-Basa’ir]
