Does Doubting a Hadith’s Authenticity Invalidate One’s Faith or Ramadan Fast?

Answered by Shaykh Yusuf Weltch

Question

Do doubts about a hadith’s authenticity constitute kufr? Does this affect my fasting in Ramadan?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.

No. Doubts regarding the authenticity of a specific Hadith do not affect one’s faith, nor do they affect one’s fast of Ramadan.

The science of grading Hadith is profoundly rigorous, and one should submit to the gradings of reputable scholars regarding any particular hadith grading.
