How to Overcome Doubts about Islam after Reading upon Negative Views?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

How do I overcome doubts about Islam after reading upon negative views?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

I commend you trying to fight off the satanic whisperings and reach out for support and guidance.

Miracles

Allah (Most High) created the entire universe with certain norms and ways. As He is the creator of it, through His wisdom he made certain humans role models and guides and made them prophets. These prophets brought about extraordinary acts to prove to people of their prophethood and truthfulness.

Tenets of Faith

Allah (Most High) has told us to believe in Himself and five other articles. This is system He has commanded for us to believe and uphold through His wisdom and mercy. He is the creator of every atom and universe. He knows the best support systems for guiding us in this life and beyond.

Abu Hurayra (Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: “Satan will come to one of you and he will say, ‘Who created this and that?’ until he says to him, ‘Who created your Lord?’ Let him seek refuge in Allah and stop such thoughts.” [Bukhari]

In another narration, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: “Let him say: I have faith in Allah.”

I would like to advise you not to read, listen to or watch any videos about ex-Muslims. This will create doubts and baseless thoughts and ideas.

Also, why not join the Islamic Studies Curriculum Course on SeekersGuidance. It provides a clear, systematic five-level program. It is taught by qualified scholars, and presents traditional Islamic knowledge in a deep, practical, inspiring manner-with an emphasis on living knowledge as guidance.
