Is It Permissible to Promote Ebooks on Topics Like Money and Lifestyle Islamically?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

I used to promote ebooks I created on topics like money, lifestyle, and health by commenting on these books. Is this permissible, and how should I promote these books Islamically?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

The topics you choose, such as money, lifestyle, and health, are acceptable as long as the recommendations of books you share are in line with Islamic principles. This means they should be free from vulgarity and not include unIslamic or impermissible content, illicit themes, or anything enticing to impermissible behavior.

The Best People are Those Who Benefit Others

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “The believer is friendly and befriended, for there is no goodness in one who is neither friendly nor befriended. The best of people are those who are most beneficial to people.” [Tabarani, Al-Mujam al-Awsat]

Sahl bin Sa’d (Allah be pleased with him) said that The Messenger of Allah (Allah be pleased with him) said: “This goodness contains many treasures, and for those there are keys. So glad tidings to the one whom Allah makes a key to good and a lock for evil, and woe to the one whom Allah makes a key to evil and a lock to good.” [Ibn Majah]
