Is It Permissible to Delay Entering the Ihram?
Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi
Question
Is it permissible for us to delay entering the Ihram until after staying in Jeddah for 3 days due to my brother’s health condition and my friend’s mobility issues before proceeding to Mecca for Umra?
Answer
Yes, it is permissible to delay the Ihram when it comes to performing an Umra because an Umra does not have to be performed at a specific time of the year. [Quduri, Mukhtassar]
Allah Most High says: “Allah desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you.” [2.185]
The Messenger of Allah (blessing and peace be upon him) has said, “Those who make things hard for themselves will be destroyed.” [Muslim]
