Stunning Chickens and Halal Certification

Question: There is a certain halal food auditing company that has certified as halal chicken that is stunned before slaughter? Can I rely on this certification?

When stunning does not kill the animal, then the process is still haram, but the meat will be halal to eat. This is probably why they gave the certification.
