Does Mentally Reviewing Quran in Sujud Invalidate Prayer?
Hanafi Fiqh
Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi
Question
I mentally reviewed Surat al-Fatiha during prayer to check for mistakes but ignored doubts to avoid repetition. Does this invalidate my prayer, considering that reciting the Quran in sujud is not permissible?
Answer
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
No, your prayer has not been invalidated by this mental review. [Shurunbulali, Nur al-Idah]
This is because none of the integrals and conditions for the validity of the prayer have been breached. [Ibid.]
Allah (Most High) says:
“Allah desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you.” [2.185]
And Allah knows best.
Wassalam
