Is It Permissible to Follow the Hanafi View on Uncovered Feet?
Hanafi Fiqh
Answered by Shaykh Yusuf Weltch
Question
Can my husband allow me to follow the Hanafi opinion on uncovering the feet without it being sinful for him, if he believes covering them is obligatory?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate.
In the Hanafi school, the relied-upon position regarding a Muslim woman’s feet is that they are not obligatory to cover. [Ibn ‘Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]
Although some Hanafi scholars differed with this, this is the most authentic position. No doubt, it is more cautious to cover the feet due to opinions within the Hanafi school and the relied-upon position in the Shafi school; however, it is not obligatory. [Ibid.]
That said, your husband would not be sinful for your uncovering of your feet.
Hope this helps
