Question
What is the ruling on dhikr during masturbation?
Answer
In the name of Allah, the All-Merciful, the Ever-Merciful.
All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all beings, and may peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad.
I pray you well.
No, it doesn’t necessarily mean that your tasbih and worship are not accepted. Rather, it means you’re a human being with challenges and a path to drawing closer to Allah Most High.
Allah Most High said in the Quran, “Indeed, Allah loves those who frequently repent.” [Quran, 2:222]. Take this as a rule for any sin in life. If you’re struggling with a sin, keep repenting. Keep going back to Allah. Keep trying to be square with Allah.
If you slip up, embrace it as an opportunity to repent. Maybe the sin is there, so you keep repenting to become beloved to Allah. Sins committed out of weakness won’t harm you as long as there’s sincere repentance.
Keep repenting and keep a good opinion of Allah Most High in your mind at all times.
May Allah grant him the ability to keep repenting, to keep improving, and to keep drawing closer to Him. Amin.
