Is Eternal Life Promised to Mankind Only, Not Others?

Answered by Mawlana Ilyas Patel

Question

Does eternal life in the Hereafter extend only to mankind, or do other creations of Allah Most High, such as angels and jinn, share this promise?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

I pray you are in good faith and health.
Endless, eternal life in Paradise or Hellfire, temporary or eternal, is for human beings and jinn beings. A sinful believer is liable for temporary punishment in Hell for his sin unless he repents. Ultimately, though, they are of the people of Paradise. A kafir, though, is liable to enter Hell eternally: if the message of Islam reached them in a sound and well-presented way, this is their fate. Otherwise, Allah knows best. Read the link below for further details.
