Is It Sinful To Migrate to a Non-Muslim Country for a Better Life, Even if One Gets Close to Islam Through it?

Question: My parents immigrated to Canada in search of a better lifestyle for us even though they could have lived in their home country as middle-class citizens. I have come across people saying that immigrating in such a circumstance is regarded as sinful because one is throwing oneself into evil. However, my parents had actually come much closer to Islam when they immigrated. How does this translate into sin since I’ve had countless family members immigrate after doing istikhara as well? Is it still sinful?
