Is It Allowed to Keep Impure Clothes in a Bag in a Mosque?
Hanafi Fiqh
Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi
Question
If someone experiences a wet dream and cannot wash their impure clothes immediately, is it permissible to keep them wrapped in a bag inside the mosque?
Answer
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
I pray this finds you in the best of states.
It is prohibitively disliked (Makruh Tahrimi) to bring filth inside a Mosque, especially if there is a risk of it spilling out. [Ibn ‘Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]
Thus, you should do your best to avoid this kind of situation.
Allah (Most High) says: “Certainly, a mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy of your prayers. In it are men who love to be purified. And Allah loves those who purify themselves.” [Quran, 9:108]
And Allah knows best.
Wassalam
