How Should I Deal with Mosquitoes inside a Jug of Water?
Answered by Ustadh Sufyan Qufi
Question
If there are some kind of mosquitoes or something like that, in our toilet that sits in the jug we use for istinja, will the jug then be considered impure, because they live in the toilet, (no matter how clean the area is, they are always there and don’t leave)
Answer
In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful,
I pray this finds you in the best of states.
Mosquitoes, alive or dead in a jug empty, or full of water, won’t render the jug or the water filthy. The water remains pure and purifying. [Shurunbulali, Nur al-Idah]
The Messenger of Allah (Blessings and Peace be upon Him) has said: “O Salman, any food or drink in which a creature without flowing blood has fallen into it and then died remains permissible to eat, to drink, and to use for purification.” [Bayhaqi]
[Shurunbulali, Maraqi al-Falah]
And Allah knows best.
Wassalam
