Is It Permissible To Play a Coding Game?

Question:

Assalamu ‘alaykum. I am doing a coding game/competition/website in school. Completing a challenge earns you points in this game. There is one challenge in particular which involves something called the tower of Hanoi. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Hanoi). I was wondering if I could still participate in this coding game if I just skip this level/challenge, or would this make the entire thing haram?

Answer:

Wa ‘alayum assalam wa rahmatullah wa barkatuh.

I pray you are well.

Yes, playing such games is permissible. It does not entail doing or believing anything impermissible.

Participate, and show thanks for your success, knowing that it is from Allah.  You will only get more success through it.

May Allah grant you the best of both worlds.
